On 17 July 2014, flight MH17 was shot down over the Ukraine. 298 souls perished on that flight: from Holland, Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Britain, Belgium, the Philippines and Canada.
I am uploading this photo to honour and pay my respects to these innocent people. May they rest in peace and may the people responsible for their deaths, be brought to justice.

A tragic event indeed...It's sad to see stupid wars everywhere these days and innocent victims of them as a result... Lovely image.

Ciao Cara Lisa,
The heart yearns for these people and their families who had done nothing worse than travel on an aeroplane! Has the world gone mad! What is the purpose!
A gentle shot, showing Nature at peace.
Oh, that we should emulate this mood!
Thank you for sharing this,

Buona serata,Luciano

a beautiful and moving tribute to yet another sad event that questions whether we as a species have really learnt anything from the horrors of the past. This must be such an amazing place to see and when captured in this light all the more inspiring and impressive.........sad that it has to be posted as a memorial image but may they rest in peace.
Enjoy your Sunday - B.

I don't think we shall ever know for certain who was responsible for this truly despicable act. A fine homage to all the innocent victims.
CLODO (30256) 2014-07-20 3:32
a pure golden hill reflected in the silvery beach, a good quiet image to honour the innocent dead persons shot down during a war, not sure that the responsible will be known and so brought to justice.

marabu61 (8385) 2014-07-20 4:14
Very considerate tribute to the loss of innocent lives in this tragedy. Unfortunately I am not to optimistic that the culpable party will ever be held responsable.
The lovely warm light and the glow on the clear water makes this very attractive.
have a great sunday

thank you very much for this beautiful photo dedicated to victims of this terrible accident. As you my know, I'm very close to Malaysia (lived there for more than 20 years and arriving by airplane to KL more than 250 times) and also close to MAS (MD my former boss and myself MAS frequent traveller during several years).
The photo is beautiful, the rocks are in outstanding light and the reflections really beautiful. Once more many thanks for posting it.

A fine touching image to pay respect to these poor souls, I am in shocked at how this whole tragic event is being handled and portrayed around the world. I do not wish to show any anger here as this is not the place. I echo your sentiments entirely and wish peace to those grieving families.
Calm colors and composition a beautiful scene.
Have a great Sunday

This is a great tribute to those who lost their lives in the MH17 tragedy.
The angled light here creates nice warm tones on the cliffs. The rugged seafloor gives this shot a frozen look which contrast the warm colors beautifully.

I was reading my newspaper this morning and I said to my wife that everything was going very bad in the world these days and I don't see it turning better in a long while. At least, your picture is cheering me up
Have a nice day

Nice view that unfortunately these innocent people will not see because of human cruelty and imuable destruction of man by man.
Thank you for this beautiful tribute

Hi dear Lisa
Belle soirée a toi
ktanska (24758) 2014-07-20 11:25
Golden light reflecting from still pools looks amazing. What a beautiful way to remember victims of what probably is the most stupid act of war ever hit on innocent travellers. Not forgetting that even bigger numbers of civils die on the ground for equally insane reasons.
cornejo (31484) 2014-07-20 12:19
Hello dear Lisa, I agree with this nice initiative yours, nice job to honor the innocent.
Good morning and happy start to the week.
Warm greetings from southern Spain.

This is a beautiful photo, with warm, golden light, but this time I will leave off the smiley face. It's such a sad and senseless tragedy... I think my mind is finally sagging after the weight of so many lost lives in recent months. May the loved ones of those lost find peace in some way... Thanks for the lovely tribute.

Ciao cara Lisa,
A very appropriate dedication to those poor souls lost on flight MH17 and their heartboken families and friends. In fact, I believe that the number of people lost is now 298.
A beautiful image, presumably taken in either early morning or late evening sunshine with glorious colours, fabulous reflections and a fine composition. Exposure and sharpness first class as always.

An appropriate calming image along with a very thoughtful words & tribute to the loss of innocent lives in this terrible tragedy. Lovely warm colours on the entire scene and the astounding clarity, an appropriate place for contemplation. Well done and tfs

Indeed, a moving tribute. Victimizing innocent civilians, wiping out entire families...the callousness of an evil heart.
A golden hill that says, may they rest in peace. Nice, beautiful shot!
P.S. Thank you for your kind comments...and for being a lovely host and friend to my fellow countryman. Please, do visit the Philippines if you have time. I volunteer to be your guide. ;-)...and we'll go places!
Have a nice day and stay safe,

Irony played here, Lisa:
You had chosen a picture showing a strong-cliff, not aware that the code-name for the war, now entered it's 14th day in Israel, called "Operation Strong-cliff".
The beautiful light upon and the clear contourlines give me hope that there is a good and optimistic end to what we endure nowadays.
williewhistler (14149) 2014-07-21 5:54
a lovely tribute to the innocents who died in a senseless and shameful act,the images of locals ransacking the remains are both horrific and haunting.
Kindest thoughts to you and Kevin,
Les and G .

Attractive golden light view of the ocean cliff, and low tide revealing Nature's erosion patterns on the ocean floor.
I believe the Military Industrial Complex around the world is responsible for the MH17 being shot down. The creation of weapons and munitions is extremely profitable and self perpetuating, with one nasty deed leading to another in revenge. War is a huge money maker and we humans must fight back to demand sharing rather than killing.
Both Presidents, Washington and Eisenhower warned in their farewell speeches of the immense dangers of the Military Industrial Complex. More and more soldiers and weapons and munitions would lead to not only more wars, but the danger of losing our freedoms and democracy.
jcpix (13658) 2014-07-21 19:25
Gidday Miss Lisa,
An absolutely abhorrent act, perpetrated by those with evil hearts and minds. A fine tribute and heartfelt sentiment expressed for the loss of life, and those affected by this tragedy. Sadly, there's nothing that can be said that will bring them back, but it is worth mention to honor their memories.
Many things to think about, but I'll let the imagery and text do the speaking. Very well presented with care and concern, offering a moment of reflection and respect. Take good care. All the best.

Ciao cara Lisa, beautiful photo for memory of these innocent victims. Such a tragedy for their families. Everyone could be in this plane or have loved one there. Senseless act. May they rest in peace. But do you believe that the responsible will be brought to justice? I do not think so. Moving picture.

A beautiful photo with this warm light and these reflections on these cliffs to evoke a sad news, good idea and nice photo.

Ciao Cara Lisa,
A nice tribute. One of the Australian victims on MH17 was a relative of 2 passengers from Brisbane on flight MH370. Absolutely tragic. I love the repetition of the naturally occurring patterns and shapes in the eroded beach rock platform. A nice reflection with good sharpness and warm cold colour contrasts. Tfs!

I also feel this as a disaster, I'm with you!
The killers are to receive their punishment
SnapRJW (31119) 2014-07-23 4:41
Hello dear friend. I am a little late getting to this but thanks for posting such a wonderful natural shot in commemoration of those who perished in the senseless tragedy that befell MH17. We were in the bush at the time and news was scant... what a shock to arrive home to hear and see the news. What with that and the awful events in the middle east, I feel like returning to the sands and burying my head like an ostrich.
May the golden light of your photograph shine on those who mourn and lament.
elenimavrandoni (14249) 2014-07-23 6:34
Lisa, what a beautiful picture to remind of such a sad incident..it only goes to show how life is short and unpredictable...you are a very sweet and thoughtful person who cares in a very special way and shows it in a very special way as well..
no matter where you are in the world, take care of yourself...because I care!!
ourania (30991) 2014-07-24 3:14
Hello dear Lisa,
this picture is very beautiful, it's very well composed and the frame is shared by wonderful cold and warm tones, equally soothing and delightful. It's like a yin and yang image, dynamic, well balanced and perfect. This is how life should have been. Even after many days of detailed approaches and analyses, feeling the agony of the relatives and watching the political games, I find it most hard to accept how unimportant the respect of human lives has become in what's considered an advanced part of the world. I think that words are losing their meaning. A thoughtful initiative on your part, thank you!
All the best, have a lovely day,
miumiu (5881) 2014-07-24 3:50

Beautiful colors and sharpness in this image of the cliff by the seashore.Very well captured with great clarity.I can feel the pain that we all share for the victims and their families of the two Malaysian Airlines. The world is becoming more cruel day by day.Gaza and its large number civilian casualty is a silent reminder of the people and their cruelties, who themselves faced holocaust not even a century back.TFS.

The place is really beautiful with this golden light and the reflection on the water. A very good shot and a great homage to all those victims of such sad tragedy.
macjake (56538) 2014-08-04 23:44
i missed this one in your gallery. I think because i see some of your shots on IG, I get them mixed up on here..hard to keep track of everything.
Another fine tribute post from you. I wish we never see a tribute photo posted from you again. Of course i mean that in the most positive of ways. When will these needless killings end!?
Lets hope this is the last tribute photo for a long long long time. Its been an awful year for such events.

Ciao Cara Lisa,
