Photographer's Note
Approximately 90 minutes away from Sydney, yhe Blue Mountains is a mountainous region in New South Wales, Australia wherein it borders on Sydney's metropolitan area. Consisting mainly of a sandstone plateau, the area is dissected by gorges up to 760 metres deep. A large part of the Blue Mountains is incorporated into the Greater Blue Mountains Area World Heritage Site, consisting of seven national park areas and a conservation reserve.
I've unearthed this photo of mine years ago, cropped the photo and emphasized on this humungous totem like structure I noticed. I suppose this were one of the guardians who endlessly watch over the place to keep safe. Enjoy!

Hello Mathieu.
Another member of the bookmark appreciation club signing in !
A great post of this format, with an image ideally suited. I know very little about A. geology and mountains, I never knew you had such mountains as this. The likeness that Bernd mentions is remarkable. TFS !
regards
Martin

Ciao Mathieu,
è pericoloso mettere cornici troppo elaborate, il rischio è che la foto venga bannata dai moderatori, e sarebbe un vero peccato visto che si tratta di un soggetto meraviglioso, proposto in una bellissima verticale. Complimenti.
Un caro saluto.

Hi Mathieu
We have to look closely to this vertical bookmark todiscover the portrait of what I would call an indian (redskin). Maybe by contrasting your picture (darker background), the silhouete would be more attractive. I try a WS

Un rocher impressionnant, Mathieu,
et un cadrage qui renforce encore son imposante verticalité.
Bien vu.
Amicalement.
Daniel.

Salut cher Mathieu
I hope you enjoyed Australia when you were here 2 years ago. Excellent long tight framing which accentuates the vast rockface. I think I know where you took this from. The light is quite magical. Nice shot.

Bravo

Hello Matthieu,
you have a most original username and a very interesting gallery of photos (many of them are very artistic) :)
Yes, this really looks like a face of a stone giant. I like the vertical composition: it is very well balanced and, strange as it might seem, this view makes an impression of something very light (in every sense of the word).
best regards,
Elena
