Another photo from a series on big waves that came through at barrack point. What was different about these waves was how clean they were - you can see that on other postings. Here I liked the background of my place of work, think about those people stuck inside - while I had to make do in the outdoors! Barrack point is about 110km south of Sydney in the region called the Illawarra.

A photo of interesting contrasts - well composed. Lucky you to not be stuck inside! TFS, Marlene

Hello Mark. Good looking capture with sharpness and exposure of the big waves. I like the splash against the misty horizon and yet maintaining sharpness of the silhouettes. Well done and thanks for sharing. Jusni

Daring attempt, taking a shot facing the sun. Very well captured, the water looks ferocious. Composition is very good with buildings in the distance, hazy.
Thanks for sharing

I like the way the sun is glistening on the rocks and water, the force of the waves and also the steelworks and mountains in the background - all in all an interesting well composed photo (are they people standing on a breakwall as well?)TFS

Hi Mark, you've captured the wave slamming into those rocks very well. The contrast seen within the waves and between them and the rock is very excellent. I like too how we can see the stacks subtly in the background, through the haze. It seemed to me though that there was a bit of a problem with those stacks. With our focus on those I see a bit of a tilt. It's not a serious thing, (about 1 degree) but since we are drawn to the verticals it stands out. I've prepared a workshop looking at this, to provide you with another option.

Mark, this is a WOW photo. You captured the details of the splash. And it's so sharp that makes the rock (or mud?) like a melting chocolate. Good job!

Hello Mark, I have been keeping an eye out for recent postings by you but no new for a while but I discover this one, I don't know how I missed it, it's a beauty, colour, composition, clarity & sharpness are super, if I hadn't read John's comments about the stacks I would not have noticed, they look great in the BG. By the way I must contact John I haven't hear from him since his return to his homeland.

Very dramatic composition. The light is incredible here!
The colours emphasised dramatism of situation.
Best Regards and Happy New Year!
