This is a photo of my son on the far right front - Cadet Sergeant Matthew Jefferies, DPMC (Deputy President Mess Committee), Long Tan Sovereigns Company, at the Queen's Birthday Parade, June 2004 at Royal Military College Duntroon, Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, one week before Matt's graduation parade. A very pleasant sunny day in Canberra, though still quite cold. Matt is now a Captain in the Australian Army serving in Darwin with the Royal Australian Electrical & Mechanical Engineers (RAEME).
The Royal Military College, Duntroon is the Australian Army's officer training establishment. It was founded at Duntroon, in the Australian Capital Territory, in 1911. It is situated on picturesque grounds at the foot of Mount Pleasant near Lake Burley Griffin, close to the Department of Defence headquarters at Russell Hill. Duntroon is adjacent to the Australian Defence Force Academy (ADFA).
