The Rideau channel connects the town of Ottawa on the river of Outaouais to the town of Kingston on the Lake Ontario. The Rideau channel was supplemented in 1832 and continuous to be in activity today. It is the oldest system of channels always in activity in North America. June 28, 2007, it was devoted world inheritance of UNESCO. The 202 kilometers of the Rideau channel include/understand sections of the Rideau river and Cataraqui river, like several lakes the such Rideau lakes. Some 19 kilometers of the way are made of hand of man. Today, only the boats of pleasure furrow the Rideau channel. Excursions in boat on the channel are offered in the town of Ottawa and the yachtmen can easily borrow it between Ottawa and Kingston. The locks are still man?uvrées with the hand. There is a total of 49 locks for 23 stations along the channel. In normal time, the channel can accomodate boats up to 27,4 m (90 feet) of length, 7,9 m (26 feet) of width, and 6,7 m (22 feet) height. In certain circumstances, a boat up to 33,5 m (110 feet) length by 9,1 m (30 feet) of width can be accepted.

Hello Michel,

This scene is more reminiscent of Europe, however is good to know that this place is actually in Canada. Very nice picture with excellent use of light. The diagonal created by the fence is very effective here. Good dynamics and colour saturation. The place is something I will see next year. Cheers :-)

Bonjour Michel,

Note très informative. Bravo!
Amicalement
Denis!

Bonsoir Michel,

Hi Michel,
The blue is really pretty, your note is very informative as well. I like the addition of the tree to the left.
Well done,
Have a wonderful weekend,
Shaeri

Bonsoir Michel,
Pierre

Hi Michel, very beautiful shot of the bridge on the canal. I've skated under that bridge, it seems a lot higher in the winter time. Your colour is excellent, and I like some of your inclusions; you caught a jogger running on the path by the canal, you caught a ferry, and you even caught a hawk soaring above it. Very nice shot and great notes.

Thanks, John
