| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
| This is the well known Double Cross climbing route on The Old Woman rock in California's Joshua Tree National Park. The climber is pretty hard to see at this small size, but she's going up to meet her friend who is already at the top. Photographed about an hour before sunset. And yes they did have a rope. |

Doug,
Welcome to TE!
This is a great shot with excellent sharpness and DOF. The lighting and colors are great as well. I wish you had given us a note about this place, it looks interesting. Most people will not critique a photo that does not have a note with it.
Keep posting and always write a note!

Doug, welcome to TE and what a fine first post. The detail is awesome and the warm afternoon sun adds wonderful color to these rocks. Great capture.

Hi Doug,
That really is excellent light and you've captured it beautifully. A really sharp image too, and the splashes of green from the trees included were important for an interesting image. An interesting composition, but you've made it work.
Thanks for sharing

Good use of the peoples for giving a sense of scale.
The light is right, not burning the rock, with a good contrast against the blue sky. I am seeing this place for the first time.
Oh yes, welcome to TE.

I used to love to go climbing in Joshua Tree. I may have even done this same route. I don't remember. The inclusion of the climbers is a very nice detail here. The blue sky is very nice contrast with the yellow rocks. Welcome to TE.

Ryan
