[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This tunnel runs beneath California Highway 101 that travels across the Golden Gate Bridge. I was driving toward Fort Baker but thought it might be fun to take this photo. I've driven through this tunnel many times with the recurring thought that it is a nice frame for the distant vista of downtown San Francisco. On this particular day I pulled into a space on the other side of the tunnel and walked in.

For those who've seen my portfolio over time you know of my love affair with this beautiful place I call home. I've posted photos of San Francisco from just about every angle. So count this as one more in what will surely be a collection that continues to grow. Enjoy the view and have a wonderful day.

This is quite lovely Curtis, the shiny line of the rain on the tarmac leading us into the picture and drawing us to San Francisco. It is anice framind with the arch of the tunnel so dark over the cloudy but suny SF. I like that red thing on the left of the tunnel as it breaks the concrete. Looks like a mailbox to me, but I guess no one is living there. I like the dark green edge and the curve.
How about this view? Do you have pictures from this angle?

Helloooooooooo Mr San Francisco! I thought you had deserted the site for ever. Just seen your three pictures and noticed you now have also the oldy 20-35. What a great collection you must have nowadays, while myself not even a proper wide angle (back to the kit lens!). It is a pleasure to see you posting and, from your notes, I see that you are rediscovering the pleasure of hiking or strolling WITHOUT your camera, simply enjoying the fact of being somewhere, taking profit from the vistas, breathing slowly to fully appreciate the quality of air, and don't give a damn about digitalizing the whole thing :o). That's great!

Hi Curtis - it's a great view, the 'light at the end of the tunnel' being the city in this case! The tunnel provides a nice frame over the part of the city that we can see here.
