Photographer’s Note
“Ready for crab” as the name of this photograph. It was a beautiful sunny days and I took this picture on a pier on the south side of Saint John’s harbor.
Unfortunately these boats may remain tied up due to a crab dispute between the fishermen and processors. There are hundreds of millions of dollars of crab lying on the bottom of the ocean and no one to harvest them.
The dispute is getting nasty and now the fishermen have blockaded our oil refinery in Come by Chance. This difference of opinion is really getting nasty and hopefully it will be resolved soon. The fish plant workers cannot work without the raw material and therefore they are suffering as well.
I hope that these boats will be in action very soon.

Good evening Jim,
Unfortunately today, they are a little obliged to make actions of this kind for defendre their point of view, in France we have a little the same problem with the fuel price.... return has the image which is very beautiful, I like the reflections of the boats in the water and the clearness of the image. It seems to to me that the horizon strongly leans has left?
Sincerely Thierry

Great still-live with strong colours, the repeating boats from left to right give depth to the shot. I would like to see the horizon straightened though.
