Photographer’s Note
A clear, cool day in the red rock country of Sedona, Arizona, and this dead tree caught my eye. I got onto the ground to shoot upward so I could get the entire height into the frame and block out the sun with one trunk. Post-processing was limited to conversion to B&W, contrast adjustment and sharpening.

Awesome shot. It's very much like a western cartoon and I expect to see a vulture sitting in the top branches.

Excellent graphical image James. Nicely framed, I like how you positioned the sun behind the trunk, great effect. I also like your post processing. Converting to BW was very insightful on your part. Good job, thanks for sharing. -David
