Photographer’s Note
This is main pyramid at the site of Ek Balam. Protected by the thatched roof are some of the finest and best preserved Mayan plasterwork in the Yucatan.
You can actually make out the "lower teeth" of the giant plaster jaw, just underneath the roofline.
I'm surprised that my photo is one of only two photos taken here; Ek Balam is only a 1.5 hour drive from Cancun.
