Photographer’s Note
After retiring to our hotel near Zion National Park for the evening, I happened to look out the window and noticed some spectacular colors in the sky. I took off from the hotel in a hurry and could not find a good composition anywhere. As the light was fading I settled for a pulloff on Hwy 9 and captured this shot with the two mesas at the bottom. This was shot on a Pentax 67II with Velvia 100. Aperture and shutter speed are unknown. Also, the original slide has not been manipulated in any way other than dust-spotting and cropping. The colors are all natural.

Hi Ben
Awesome colours! I know they are natural - I've seen some of those sunsets myself, and whenever I show pictures, everybody keeps saying "those colours can't be real".
Good composition, too, leaving the focus to the spectacular sky and yet offering some perspective with the dark mesa.
Thanks for sharing, best wishes

Hi Ben,
A sublime imagery produced by a beautiful evening as the sun sets over the mountain. You remarkably rendered a changing moment of the sky - WOW!
