Photographer’s Note

I had been "dreaming" a long time for the opportunity to photograph Oxbow Bend in the Grand Teton National Park located in Wyoming, USA. I can tell you it was almost breathtaking to arrive at this awesome location in early October this year near the peak of the autumn color season, and have a sunny and warm day to boot. I was one of literally dozens of photographers there, seems there were tripods everywhere, people milling about, and cars parked everywhere. And there was good reason, as you see here, this is an absolutely stunning place with reflections of Mount Moran and the golden autumn colors. I have many more shots of this place so will probably post a few more in the next while.

The reflections in the lake are splendid but I specially like the colour contrast between the trees and the sky / lake (the red line between both blue surfaces). Very good composition.

Hi, Gerald. This is a gorgeous place and I think you went there at the best moment of the year. The orange of the trees contrasts wonderfully with the blue of the lake. You've created a very nice diagonal lien in the foreground which meets another one leading to the snowy tops in the background. Maybe these last ones could be a little sharper, but I think some USM could do the job here.

14 years ago i stood also here. Weather was nothing, bad light, clouds, not interesting at all. But now seeing this, man i have to go back there one day. What a boost of colours, what a great impact you have here right from the thumbnail.

The majestic Grand Tetons and the vivid blue sky make for a stunning reflection in the glass surface of this lovely lake.
The autumn colors make a splendid compliment to all magnificent varying shades of blue.
Love how the mountains spring so high against the flat foreground.

The autumn is all wonderful here, and topped with the rugged mountains in the back...

Wow, brilliant colour in this, which makes the image really jump out at the viewer. The flaming orange of the trees and the icy blue of the mountains makes a very nice contast oof colours too. Excellent work!

You managed to find always the perfect spots for all of your shot. This one too is very beautiful, with the distant snow capped mountains and the forest of golden orange tree and field of gold, contast perfectly withe the blue sky and lake. We were there in September, just too early for the autumn colours. This is stunning, for the light, the colours and the reflections. From your POV there are a series of interlocking triangles that work very well in the composition.

fantastic photo, Gerald, I especially like the contrast between the warm golden colours of the trees and cool blue and white of the mountains in the background. the clarity is superb, and the composition with the strong foreground worls very well. excellent work, my compliments.

Hi, I can only say - fantastic! I was in Grand Teton in September, it was nice, but not to be compared with this photo. Imposing Rocky Mountains in the back and incredible red trees and their reflections. amazing photo, you weere so lucky to be there in the right time.

Amazing colors Gerald. And great composition too. You really choose the best time of day to photograph this. The golden tones are really amazing. Even if you used a polarizer, the light is perfect. I love the inclusion of that foreground diagonal a lot. Would love to be here...
