Photographer’s Note
After work I took a hike to enjoy the Fall colors. We'd not had a lot of rain so many of the fall leaves were still on the trees.
In our area of the country we don't have too many red colors, mostly yellows and oranges. I wanted to capture this small part of Tanner creek with just a touch of the autumn colors framing the scene, and also try out some of the manual settings on my new camera.
This hike leads to Wahclella Falls on Tanner Creek, it's only a 1 mile long trail with a loop at the end that comes back over a bridge, where I took this photo using the bridge for a tripod, since as usual I hadn't brought mine. It's a great after work hike as it doesn't take much time.
Right now there were Salmon coming up stream to spawn, in their bright red colors they stood out well in the water, although I didn't get any photos of them. All in all a lovely afternoon spent enjoying the Autumn colors and the Fall or the water.

Wonderful shot of the falls. The smooth. creamy effect from the long shutter speed really captures an elegant photo. I know the area well, albeit I haven't been there for a long time. The winter will come and you will be able to shoot some frozen falls along the Columbia, I am sure. Stabilization of your camera made the shot though. Good for you. I haven't been here very much in the past, but hope to do more posting this coming year. Again, great shot.
