Photographer’s Note
The 40th Annual New York City Marathon at the half way point in Long Island City Queens. Yes it was that time of year again when I take my camera and photograph people from all over the world that gather to participate in one of the biggest sweat fest and self torture event that snakes through the heart of the big apple.
After a long and painful run through this urban jungle nothing taste better or is more rewarding than a cold beer after crossing the finish line. A a cold brew beats a medal and t-shirt that you win for all the miles you logged in the rain, the snow, the summer heat and the bone chillin winter cold. Tonight the beer will flow for most of these weary marathoners. Tomorrow most will have trouble getting up out of bed only to notice that their urine is flowing with traces of blood from all the pounding that their kidneys took on this glorious day.
