Photographer’s Note
High up on Maple Ridge Ski Area is this peaceful little snow making pond that seems to reach up and touch the sky.
Usually when I hike over here from my daughter and son-in-law's house I'm in the company of 3 dogs and one or both of my lovely granddaughters.
The color is mostly gone now in fact there was about 3 inches of snow up here on last Thursday.

Hi Tom,
Very pretty shot, you've had good value out of this location so far. Good composition using the foreground reeds to add interest and depth. On my monitor the shot looks to be a bit oversharpened but, everyone sees it differently. I posted a shot that I thought looked as sharp as and got the response twice that the shot looked a bit soft, go figure.
Anyway a really beautiful image, I'm looking forward to some posts from this spot covered in snow.
All the best
Pete

Hi tom,
Late day light is always the best for shots like this, but I am of the mind this shot could have done with a slightly tighter crop on the bottom - just a thought. TFs. Gerald

hi Tom
3 dog! That would be fun.
Very nice countryside to hike with such good company and to enjoy a lovely landscape view of this nature.
For this shot, I would probably crop off the FG grass, leave the water just enough to reflect the trees at the right and make it look like panorama. Try it on your PC and see how it goes.
tfs, bill
p/s for last 2 Sundays, I took my 3-yr dog to climb 560m hill and so far he is able to take it well. I wonder, nobody has trek that steep hill with a dog. It takes about 2hrs to reach the top.

Hi, Tom.
Wonderful and totally truthful to Autumn, both in terms of colors and atmosphere. I'll have to show this magnificent pond to Freddie... he, he!
LOVELY shot, buddy!
And thanks for taking time again to go all the way back through my gallery, I greatly appreciate.
Hugs to you & 4-legged pals, see ya later.
Have a great day,
Fulvio.

Hi Tom,
Good to see Rotterdam showing up again ;-)
Good use of the reed in front to create and extra lyer in the composition and the depth that is created by it works very good.
Warm colours on the other side, very good composition..!!!

Hello Tom,
Oh, the thought of snow makes me shiver!
No ... in truth it would probably raise the temperature a little, which is below freezing today!
This shot has a lovely atmosphere with the low sunlight catching the distant trees and making them glow warm gold and orange.
The f/g reeds provide an interesting, textural border whilst the sky, with its soft cloud formations adds interest to the upper section.
Excellent composition.
Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Hi Tom,
I am also looking forward to seeing this place covered with snow. It is a beautiful spot in a very nice light, but from my point of view there is too much reed in the FG. Anyway, a very pleasant composition! TFS!
