Photographer’s Note

One of my favorite place in Yosemite is this view of the Yosemite valley over the Merced River. When the water is low and calm, you can see the beautiful reflection of the El Capitan and Bridal Vail fall. I been to Yosemite many times and this is my first time see beautiful lighting at this location. The light changed constantly and the whole scene looked amazing. I used the sigma 12-24mm lens for this image but my lens is not wide enough to capture the whole sky, so I stiched 2 photo to created this image.

Hello Phuoc,

This is a surreal image — featuring simple but elegant composition, spectacular colors and high resolution. I am impressed by the effect you have achieved with that Sigma 12-24 lens. I also shoot with a Nikon D200, but have been reluctant to use lenses outside the Nikon stable. Congratulations on the fabulous capture.

The warm light hitting the rock face is striking. I like this framing because it shows good balance of water and land. The colours seem fine and the light of the day gave you excellent reflections. An inspirational place indeed! Thanks :-)

Beautiful shot benefiting from excellent light. I was there earlier this year and the smoke from forest fires was pretty thick. Your atmosphere is crystal clear and the low clouds are a great addition to the well-known landscape. The image is well composed and the square-ish format suits it well.

un très beau cadrage
juste dommage que les nuages un peu bas cachent trop le sommet de gauche; peut être un effet du grand angle aussi on dirait que la photo penche un peu

Amazing photo! This golden rock and its reflection is incredible. I was there a month ago but I was not so lucky to see such a view. The clouds are also fantastic. Great job! Regards

Oh this place is so b'ful- I would love to be there- sometime, somehow!!!
Excellent and warm colors. Specially the slice of light on that rock is so striking.
