Photographer’s Note
A mighty wind blew night and day
It stole the oak tree's leaves away
Then snapped its boughs and pulled its bark
Until the oak was tired and stark
But still the oak tree held its ground
While other trees fell all around
The weary wind gave up and spoke.
How can you still be standing Oak?
The oak tree said, I know that you
Can break each branch of mine in two
Carry every leaf away
Shake my limbs, and make me sway
But I have roots stretched in the earth
Growing stronger since my birth
You'll never touch them, for you see
They are the deepest part of me
Until today, I wasn't sure
Of just how much I could endure
But now I've found, with thanks to you
I'm stronger than I ever knew

Hello Sergio, from your PoV I really get a feeling for the immense size and weight of these great trees.
Not an easy light to take a shot, but you have managed pretty well.
I love the poem.
Tfs, regards Jean.

I've always looked at the oak trees as being the defining characteristic of the South. They have such personality, they can transmit rage, patience, protectiveness, grandeur, stateliness. This is a nice, characteristic capture of some Louisiana oak trees. Thanks.

Hi Sergio,
Excellent POV with the layering of the oak trees providing excellent DOF and capturing the tunnel feeling of their arching bows. The bit of sonlight behind the shadowing trees provides drama.

sergio
these oaks are like octopus. fantastic shapes. This pov is very good to show these trees and how strange and beautiful they are. I think i would cut something in the lower area concentrating the view in the branches. nice work

Hello Sergio,
This is a well composed picture of the massive old oaks with leaning trunks and interesting shapes of the long limbs. I love the poem. I will be away in Italy and Spain for the next two weeks, but will return to TE when I get back from my trip.
Best,
Betty

Hola Sergio
christian
