Le Detroit

| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Taken from the street in betweek Ford Field and Comerica Park. When I looked down, I saw this iconic landmark (Renaissance Center) that is now the GM Headquarters.
A little history from WIKI
17th century
The first recorded mention of what became Detroit was in 1670, when the French Sulpician missionaries François Dollier de Casson and René Bréhant de Galinée stopped at the site on their way to the mission at Sault Ste. Marie.[1] Galínee's journal notes that near the site of present-day Detroit, they found a stone idol venerated by the Indians and destroyed the idol with an axe and dropped the pieces into the river.[2]

I like the urban composition. Very american. Seems like OJ Simpson on the billboard (nice you took it, it adds a pseudo human element). Another reason I like it is that there are NO people in the image. That's right, No people! Only cars (SUV). So very Detroit indeed. Great pic.

Rajesh:
Beautiful. The reflections off the water add to the charm.
As Cristian says, the absence of people in the shot makes it unique. To me in India, no people on a main road in the daytime gives the shot a surreal touch.
Well done!
