In the foreground, Ellis Island, where all started.
Opened in 1892.
Where millions of immigrants entered the US, during decades and decades.

In the background, the Goldman Sachs Tower in Jersey City.
Completed in 2004, one of the latest towers...

A century...

NIce shot! The contrast between old & new is really great. In fact, that is one of the things I like about some American cities: you get these really interesting clashes between oldish buildings and modern architecture. Thanks!

The contrast in building styles is extreme. It almost looks like two different images blended together from two different countries. Very good framing. Well done

Cadrage parfait stéphane,
montre le contratse de l'étalement en longeur d'antan et en hauteur de 'maintenant', aussi la différence de matériaux, grisaille et couleurs.
Des lumières pas très fortes mais bien capturées.

Un POV très très bien trouvé !
Le contraste est saisissant, d'autant plus quand on connaît la symbolique (que tu rappelles bien) d'Ellis "Immigration" Island.

Bonsoir Stéphane,
cadrage fantastique avec un contraste d'architecture réellement impressionnante.
L'édifice d'Ellis Island, du XIXe siècle, en rivalisant en élégance avec la belle Tour de Cesar Pelli de Jersey City, du XXIe siècle.
Tu as eu un bon oeil photographique dans cette composition, c'est une photo merveilleuse selon mon opinion, j'aime bien.

nice synthesis and combination of the old building of Ellis Island and the Goldman Sachs silver Tower.The light floodlight the background and the dark the foreground.How many immigrants passing by from this building,are build into and made citizens of the USA nation?

That tower catches my attention, despite of the low light condition the effect was great and the blending with the sky was amazing. Great shot.

Cadrage nickel sur ces deux architectures symboles de la ville de NY. J'aime beaucoup l'équilibre de ta photo. La tour s'intègre bien sur ce ciel je trouve. Contraste historique fort, bien vu Stéphane et bien intéressant.

Malgré la grisaille le contraste est intéressant entre les architectures.
Curieuse cette tour dont le sommet parait plus net, elle semble émerger de la brume.

Contrast of styles is so distinct here. Framed well creating a L shape. In fact the light reflections of the sky on the tower looks nice as well!

Bonjour Stéphane.

Ce contraste entre les deux édifices est flagrant. En 1892 on construisait encore selon la tradition séculaire. Au XXIème siècle c'est une architecture encore en pleine mutation et innovation. Belle photo !
