Straddling the border of southeastern Utah and northeastern Arizona on the Colorado Plateau, the Monument Valley Tribal Park preserves one of the most stunning landscapes on earth – a large collection of striking spires, mesas and sandstone buttes. Shrubs, trees and sand surround these formations, providing deep contrasts of color along with the usual clear blue sky. The park lies entirely within the Navajo Indian Reservation. Its towering formations range in height from 400 to 1,000 feet and bear names such as West Mitten Butte, Ear of the Wind, and The Totem Pole. The view from the road is spectacular, but those wishing to delve deeper into the valley can go on a Navajo-guided jeep tour to view natural landmarks most visitors do not see. The park’s visitor center features exhibits about the area’s history, the Navajo Nation and the Navajo code talkers.

Hi Derek!
Its a beautiful composition, specially due to the colours contrast. The polarized blue is just great and also the warm colours, very well lighted! Nice framing of the scenery.
Cheers!
Zeca

hello Drek
I am impressed by the beauty of the colours, the red mountains, the blue sky, enhanced by a superb luminosity!I like the grasses of the foreground that makes the composition perfect!
Regards.
Pascale

I have just taken a long look through the posts I missed and whetting my appetite for our trip.
The shadow on the right makes a great lead-in line. The low POV to include the scrub in the foreground works well. AND that blue sky! How I want to see it for real.
Well done
Kath

Bonsoir,
belle photo de ces montagnes, de ces rochers, avec ces buissons désèchés qui avec le vent risque de se détacher et de rouler comme dans les fim westernes.
Jolies couleurs et beau ciel bleu, sous une bonne netteté.

Amitiés Thomas

Hi, Derek.
Yes, I think I recognize this spot. Not one of those you can witness from the road open to visitors, correct me if I'm wrong. Colors and definition are perfect, those tiny clouds in the distance the final touch, the view... well, the view speaks for itself!
Great job, love it.
Have a good day, see ya around.
Fulvio.
