Lake Tipsoo & Mt. Rainier Photo

Photographer’s Note

Among the most scenic places in all the US is Chinook Pass in the Cascade Mountain Range of central Washington. I was thrilled to see the mountain so clearly on this day as it is often obscured by clouds or haze. If you look closely in the right foreground on the trail near the lake, you can see 2 (little) people walking. A trip over Hwy 410 is a definite "must" should you ever visit Washington State.

Tim -- I was just on this very same spot last Sunday and it was just as clear. I hadn't brought my camera with me and was kicking myself the whole time, especially when we were able to see a group of people very close to the summit. Anyway, this is very nice shot. Colors are excellent and the shot is sharp and clear.

I can't believe how crisp this photo is. There's usually a haze that lingers in the mountains on photos, but not here! Very well done.
The ONLY, very small thing that I could suggest to improve this shot would be to take it at a different angle next time to try to offset the dominant features of the shot more. As I see it, all of the features are in the right half of the photo, with nothing dominant and nothing leading in to the photo on the left hand side - a sort of dead space that the eye is drawn away from. This is a fantastic photo regardless, good job!

I like this shot and the WS that davidao25 made is good as well I think that the positoning of the mountain in upper thirds is a greatly composed great job.

Well Tim, this gives me a (crisply) clear picture of what I missed during the rainy and foggy day I got when I was traveling this area in 2002. Lovely scenery, good use of the trees in the foreground to "frame" this magnificent view of Lake Tipsoo in front of Mt Rainier. Beautiful colors and details, I can literally smell the fresh air ;-)

I could live here.And it would be an easy going kind of trekking. You know Tim, with years trudging in the claustrophobic rainforest with its density and leeches, scene like this give a different perspective of enjoying countryside. This is beautiful country Tim.

You can almost feel that clean crisp air here! Beautiful landscape image, but I feel needs the inclusion of a subject to improve it.

I love this view of the Mt. Rainier area, I haven't been to this spot before. I hope to do some hiking up there this summer and this photo inspires me more to do that. The people walking in this photo give you the sense of grandure that the whole area brings on a clear sunny day. Sharp, clear, postcard perfect image. Well done.
