[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Commemorating dreams of exploring the darkened voids of space and trekking amongst the landscape OF THE RED PLANET IN OUR GALAXY WHEN WE WERE IN OUR CHILDHOOD COMES TO MIND WHEN YOU FIRST ENTER THE COMPLEXITIES OF THE VALLEY OF THE pAINTED hILLS UNIT of the John Day Fossil Beds.
Earth's mecuric attitude can be justifiably expressed through all our amazement as we find ourselves trekking along a minute sliver of Earth within an arid waterway that draws from these hillside's rise, and as we step further into the valley along their pointed course, we may again reminisce upon those hued concourses of our childhood's most treasured and ribboned dreams...
This was taken during the TE meet at the Painted Hills Unit with Peter, Pat, and Larry. For all those that missed the meet, you missed a great shoot. Hope you make the next meet,
Steve

Steve,
I'm writing a critique as we speak over the phone.
It seems to me that you have a major problem with that laptop and the software that you used to compress the shot. I saw you taking this shot, I know the place quite well and I know the potential of the moment. The colors are exotic and unbelievable. The composition with the cracks on the ground converging to your lens is fantastic. The image is great, BUT the compression is bad. I see pixelation all over and that ruins the beauty somewhat. Send the shot to me and I will work on it to send you back for reposting it.
Peter

Hi Steven, recently I'm back on the TE pages after a 1 year long pause and it's a pleasure for me to find all the old friends as you are, it's a big pleasure to see your nice photos too, and also It's a very big pleasure to see again your photos from this magical place :o)

have a nice day,
Fabio.

Hi Steven,
I really like the softness of the colors here; it conveys well the sense of being there. Sometimes I think that sharp is over-valued on TE
HLJ, Pat

Hello Steve. It really has been a long time since I last visited your gallery. I can see you have updated with fresh new images. Excellent landscape which looks uncommon on earth. Pleasant perspective with stunning color. Well done and welcome back. Best regards. Jusni

Hi Steve,
I agree with Peter here, although not having been there...and also someone on another of these pics talking about the compression problems...the colors are lovely and considering your equipment and your former pics there must be a problem somewhere...so many signs of pixellisation...a pity. I hope Peter can help...:)))

Have a nice w-end
Michèle
