I was just out in the yard messing around, taking shots of this and that and the sky was just crazy. I saw those beams of light coming from the clouds and took about oh, 30 or so shots and this is one I was pleased with. After all this time I am still fascinated by South Carolina skies.

Hi, Shelly -

Something of Rubens in this scene; he loved this kind of light! Interesting mix of light and shadow, and not an easy capture. I think the shadows may be too deep, though - a problem I seem to be having myself right now.

Best,
Dan

WOW!! An incredible sky!!! I love how the sunlight is coming through!!! The silhouette of the trees makes a beautiful frame. Thanks!!

Bonjour Shelly

Amicalement.
Georgy

Hi Shelly,

I really like the lightbeams you've captured here, and the sky looks very impressive. Beautiful light and colours and I like the composition too.
Thanks for sharing!

Greetings, Nel

Great shot! I love shots like this :) The silhouetted trees add a nice contrast. My wife said when she was little she believed that the rays coming through clouds like this were people's souls returning to heaven :)

Philippe

Hi Shelly,
very close to Rembrandtesque, definitely baroque, absolutely en stunningly dramatic.
Not an easy shot, by all means, but what a great job you've done! Those SC skies are quite something, ain't they!
You have a great day, my friend. I'll see you soon.
Ciao,
Fulvio.

I love the light coming thru the dramatic clouds.
I have tried many times images like this but no good results for me
Big hug for you
Hugs

A beautiful shot! I love the use of light and dark. And the sky is well exposed - not too bight or anything. Looks like a magical power coming through the sky.

Hi Dearest
Could you make same with the moon ? Because I want to cry WHouuuuu like the wolves :)
Well I was just joking.
The sky gives you opportunities to make unlimited compositions.
Sincères amitiés.

Hello Shelly,

This is an inspiring sky. Your composition and post processing, and the complementary frame/mat create a fabulous effect. On my high resolution definition (24" IMac) the photo appears like a perfect high resolution photographic print.

Warm regards,

Bulent

Shelly bonjour.
Bon week-end !
Jacques
