[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is my final dance shot from the International festival in Columbia, SC. Thanks to some good advice and suggestions from Stan Obert (who is a master at these shots) and someone's suggestion that I might lighten the drapes behind the dancers, I thought I would submit this last photo and see if I've done any better with this one. I apologize that I don't know what country they represent, but I was so busy taking pictures, I didn't listen to the Emcee.

Hi Shelly. Nice effect with the elongated format. It almost looks like a montage of the same couple, showing the different moves. Nice "miniature" quality, like dolls on display. Lovely colours of course and details. Regards. Klaudio.

Hi Shelly,
Great shot of these eastern European folk dancers who's intricately detailed costumes are so very well seen. Nice use of light brings out warm colors and sharpness.

Well done. The shot is well composed with three couples but the couple on the right look like they are doing a differnt dance altogether. Well seen.

I'm sort of a 'dancing machine' myself :) Well....in my kitchen!! The thing I like most about this series is the cheerfulness of them. Very HAPPY captures. TFS

Hi Shelly! Excellent portraits of movings dancers I can you be congratulated for the marvelously this you captured! If him I cut vertically I will make three scenes with autonomous pictures. All together creating the impression film cinematographic. Amazing idea crop!

Hi Shelly,
I am glad to be of assistance anytime. We TE photographers need to share as much information as we can in these changing times. I know from experience that photographing several dancing couples in the same frame is one of the ultimate challenges for us dance photographers. Any good photographer can get closely cropped shots of just one dancer, but group shots are much, much more difficult. Unless the dancers are part of a highly controlled and very precise choreography, these type of images almost always fail. You did a great job with this dance image and I like the different, but effective poses of the three couples. It looks like they are performing the same maneuver from right to left, in sequence. This is a very tough shot to execute and you did an outstanding job IMO. You have good instincts and a good sense of timing which is about 75% of the battle. Well done!
Stan

Hi Shelly

Nice compositional arrangement into thirds, in this superb daily life scene, with excellent sharpness & color. Tfs!

Hi Shelly,
Very beautiful action catch with great colors and sharp picture ,Excellent POV. and details, Very well done,
Michel

Hello Shelly, very beautiful final, one feels environment and the movement in this photograph, it is a very original framing or of good color the scene animates, sincerely

Philippe

Hello Shelly. I like the colorful dancers and you did very well again indoors. Nice wide perspective and very pleasant for viewing. Thanks for sharing and best regards. Jusni

Hello Shelly,

This was a very difficult task!
Artificial light, moving dancers, flowing skirts, etc.

You have done very well with all aspects.
I can see the details, the colours and the FUN! Great sharpness through out.

Kind regards,
Bev :-)

hello Shelly,
very well done,
I like the colours, the action and (dare i say ity?) the comedy. Well at least i think there is something comical about the man's dance action on the right, don't you?
As everyone has already said, this must have been a difficult one to pull off.
regards,
Bev

It is a beautiful shot and I must say very well done for an artificial light environment and also full of action/motion from the dance participants. So, a well managed difficult situation.
Antonio

Hi Shelly,
if you get Stan's approval you can be sure you just came up with a damn GOOD dance shot (he's the undisputed master at that kinda stuff)!
Great colors, great dynamics, great framing, great effort!
Have a wonderful day, I'll see ya soon.
Ciao,
Fulvio.

Hi Dearest friend
Looks like European east countries folkloric dance.
Well done for your lights mangement because it's not simple to make setting.
Sincères amitiés.

Hi Shelly! what a lovely picture!! Well cut, well composed, well captured!! I like it a lot.
At a first glance I thought that the three couples would be only one couple, always the same, in three attitudes. But it is not so.
Thank you for shang, greetings from Italy!

Livia
