Another post from Route 66 in Arizona.
Theses are vehicles that are piled up along the bank of Dead River Wash, just a few yards (meters) from the Rt.66 bridge over Dead River Wash. This is also called Dead River, or Dead Wash.
I'm not sure why they are there, but maybe it was for erosion control. Another possibility is they were just abandoned near the river and the course of the river changed with spring floods.
I was back by there a couple of years ago, and the cars had been moved around by one of more floods.
This wash, as most in the Arizona desert, is empty most of the time. Check out my gallery for a few other shots from Route 66.
A note about the film: This was shot on Kodak HIE high speed infrared B&W film. It has been discontinued by Kodak. Thus passes from this earth another art form.
