Waiting Game

Peekaboo Loop Trail, Bryce Canyon National Park, Utah

Bryce Canyon - which is not known for its minimalism! But now and again, it's just possible to separate one or two hoodoos from the other 40,000.
It's obviously very useful to have your own personal cloud with you in such circumstances. We got this one in Torrey, up near Capitol Reef, and it just kinda followed us down.

Regards
Colin

Hi Colin,

You're my TE neighbor today and I love this one. This is right up my graphic simplicity alley. The shapes, color and texture of the hoodoos really pops against that blue and the cloud gives the whole thing a sense of life. This would be a crackin' print in a square format as well.

Cheers!

Bob G.

Colin, nice capture, sort of minimalist as you point out but very expressive. Great color and detail as well.

Greg

Hi Colin,

this is a fabulous shot, excellent composition and subject matter, the minimalism works sooooo very well on this, especially with such dynamic contrasting colors with the fabulous red rocks and the deep blue sky, the exposure is right dead on too. One thing about this photo is that you don't even need the black frame to really make this stand out

salut colin
un paysage fabuleux avec des couleurs magnifiques dans un ciel bleu et ce petit nuage est du plus bel effet, excellent travail et en plus elle me plait bien cette image alors hop dans les favoris

A gallery with many rocks, burning lands, of waterfall, all which makes of our earth a paradise.
Thank you for the travel this one is fantastic details of chessboards
bravo!!

Very nice, Colin.
I remember very well these solitary hoodoos, they are also on a couple Peekaboo shots of mine. Excellent clarity, color and perspective. Minimal and very effective.
Cheers,
Fulvio.

Hi Colin, another well composed shot from you but unexpectedly quite minimalist. This shouts Utah even though there is only a small part of the formation. The blue sky complements the colour of the rocks; and weren't you lucky just having that lovely cloud floating by?
Tfs, regards Jean.

olá, beautiful photo. i love the colors and that "personal cloud". great composition. congratulations.

colin

these rocks are perfectly put in the compo, good light, pov and colors. They are like sculptures. The cloud and the blue sky are fantastic. Nice minimalist compo.

Funny story, indeed the busy busy terrain of Bryce is far from minimalistic, excellent timing here, definitely desktop wallpaper material, if not more.

Hi Colin.

I've seen this cloud before! Is it the same as your 'Navajo Dome' picture??? Your stalking a cloud???? Haha, just kidding. I really like this picture and as last time you have captured this at a great moment. Really great colours as well.

Well done!

Very minimalist, very beautiful with the red colours and the small cloud in the deep blue sky.

Hi Colin,
I have nothing to add to your note. Special landforms with minimalistic and stylish framing. Magnificient colours.

I'm a big fan of minimalism, so I really like this shot! The stark shapes of the rocks are very good, and the sky provides a nice backdrop, with a contrasting colour to really show the rocks off well. The cloud really makes the shot work. Well done!

Hi Colin,
Excellent picture taken with great care and a very good contrast.
I love its natural simplicity

Hi Colin,

Great shot! It works because of the simple composition! Colors are beautiful! Good job!

Greetings,

Hi Colin,
a minimalist shot, but very effective.

une oeuvre d'art moderne sublimée par la couleur du ciel; cadrage magnifique, nuage qui éclaire le tout.. très très beau!

Simple and very beautiful. Very mynimalistic. I like very much the saturated sky and the way you composed.
Of course the cloud is a key point in this shot.
Ciao
Stefano

Masterpiece.
Three elements and an infinity atmosphere...

Hello Colin,

La composition est magnifique, les couleurs aussi. Ce petit nuage est un plus, j'adore !

Hi Colin, A most interesting and somewhat surreal composition from this Utah desert area. The colours and the presence of the sole cloud make it a delight to see. TFS. Murray.

Hi Colin

I have to agree the minimalism works very well on this shot, also beautiful contrasting colours between the red rocks and the deep blue sky, and lucky to have that cloud too, well done.

Derek

Wow...great shot...the kind I'd love to take but find difficult to explain why. Perhaps it's the simplicity, the POV, the cloud (?), the amazingcolour and contrast, the stark natural beauty...or all of the above. Well done.

Hi Colin

Simple yet amazing shot with stunningly beautiful color. That small dash of cloud really looking stunningly beautiful in the beautiful colored sky. The foreground rocks are amazing too. A very well calculated light and taken shot.

Regards,

Lopshang.

Wonderful Colin.
You really managed to do something different here. The sheer minimalism, the wonderful blue sky, the red silhouettes and your lucky own personal cloud ! make this excellent work with great visual and emotional impact. Great quality too.

TFS, Kind regards
Michèle
