Photographer’s Note

This statue of Andrew Jackson is located in front ot the Saint Louis Catherdral at the Place d'Armes in New Orleans' French Quarter. The statue commemorates the General of the American forces at the 1815 Battle of New Orleans, the final major battle of the War of 1812. The statue was erected in the 1850s. Jackson would later become the 7th President of the United States from 1829 to 1837.
