I don't know why people fail to respond to good photographs sometimes. It's a shame really.
Negative first...You should increase the contrast just a tad, maybe bump the red ever so slightly to add a hint of sepia (almost unnoticable).
Now, the moment is superb. The action of the two boys and the stoic expression of the father are wonderful contrasts. This perfectly demonstrates maturity and the joy of youth. A wonderful shot, and with some touching up of tonality, a photograph we could see in Nat Geo in an article about maturity, youth, family...etc.
