Kolob Canyon

It has been difficult for me to get into this area this winter. The place is beautiful after a snow storm, but the roads have been closed. Rock slides on the warm days have also closed the park. With the cumulus clouds yesterday I decided to take a chance, even though the winds were gusting to 40kts. The roads were cleared and I was able to get a few photos before I froze to death.

This is a 1x4 stitch with HDR used to bring out detail in the dark shadows. I had to work fast with the strong winds, but I think the stitching still worked well with the clouds. What looks as one continuous cloud was actually a smaller cloud moving through the frames.

Sorry about another red rock photo, but that's all there is around here.

Hi Allan,
I don't mind red rock photos at all, especially when they're as beautiful as yours!
The colours are amazing here and the snow sets the shot apart from many others. If you ask me, it was worth all the trouble! If you hadn't mentioned the stitching, I would have sworn it was one continuous cloud, by the way.
Thanks for sharing!
Best wishes
Claudia

interesting texture of the red rocks, light is well managed, strong colours, it's so sharp that i feel to see the top of the mounts in 3D
regards

Allan,
Imposing landscape - and a very neat stitch job which would never be spotted without (or, at this resolution, even with) your comments.
Excellent.
Regards
Colin

Hi Allan,
no way I would have known of the stitching if you didn't mention it. Excellent job.
Great POV and overall color. The weather might have been a bit... freezing cold, but no rattlers around this time of the year!
Cheers,
Fulvio.

Hello Allan,

Splendid contrasts between rust colored cliffs and beautiful sky. Trees are helping to scale your huge view, from cleverly chosen POV. A great view, congratulations.

Best Regards,

Ertugrul
