Photographer’s Note
A bare tree in the foreground, with rich blue sky and clouds complimenting the red orange tones of this beautiful place. I could spend hours, sitting here and watching the face of the landscape change with the time.
The sky was a very clear rich blue, but being 90 degrees from the sun, I chose to use a polarizer to underexpose the sky and cut some of the haze.

Hi Dana,
The contrast of sky-blue and canyon-red is awesome here. The tree stands in front like a symbol of solitude. A nice composition.

Hi Dana.
I understand you stayed here for hours. What a nice desolated landscape. Well composed, nice coloured shot.

Huub.

Hello Dana,
I know the 4x5 is hard to handle and to carry around, but please when you have time use it and show it to us. Although i like this image very much in color, brighteness, contrast, composition, sharpness and detail, it still looks digital, kind of a plastic feeling we all have to deal with since we shoot digital. Load a Velvia in your 4x5 and let us see a photo that is alive..!!!
Kind regards, Henk
