Valley of Fire

Valley of Fire is not only the oldest state park in Nevada, it is also the largest. Dedicated in 1935, the park was named for the red sandstone formations found throughout the area. Like many of the other phantasmal shaped formations found in the park, Elephant Rock is readily accessible. This and it's proximity to Vegas make this area very popular with those seeking something different for a movie or in ads. Remnants of the movie set used in 'The Professionals' can still be found.

Hi Allan,
Very nice photo with great detail and excellent colours. The use of the polarizer gives the colour of the sky great contrast with the land below. Thanks for sharing,
Jules

Hey Allan

Well done. Gorgeous colors and saturation, with the appropriate lighting and the composition. The proportions between the foreground with the grass and the background (the main motive) are engaging. Most be an enchanting site.

Enjoy.

Hi Allan,

The way the reds and blues work together is marvelous .. love the way that cloud fits into the break in the rocks .. great foreground focus to give us depth .. the contrast level really strikes me .. very nice.

take care,

John

Hello Allan! Well, after reading your note maybe I should start calling you "the fire photographer", as I love all your photos with red sandstone ;-) Excellent colours! You have a perfect balance between saturation and naturality. As the other members have said, very good and balanced composition.
Great work! TFS and best regards,
Inés

Hello Allan,

Tony

Great sky and good red rock composition. Very good composition. I've been to Vegas many times but never to the nearby Valley of Fire. Need to get my priorities in order.

Always this ochre-orangy dominant which we find in your gallery and of which personally I do not grow tired.
A photo dépaysante as one pleases!
Bye
Karine
