Catchers are always a lot of fun to photograph. They are a part of every pitch, they wear the "tools of ignorance", and of all the players on the team the catcher is the only one facing all of the other players on the team and the only player on the team whose position is actually in foul territory.

This catcher is somewhere around 50 years old and playing in the Roy Hobbs World Series, held in Fort Myers every year in October and November. The Roy Hobbs league is named after Robert Redford's character in the movie "The Natural". In the movie, Redford played an older-than-average player to became the hero of his team despite his advanced age.
