Happy New Year Trek Earth!
My photo was taken back when I was in Vermont in November. I just love the mountains and the farm land in Vermont. Looking at this I kinda wonder what the farmer was drinking when he sowed the corn in his field...the rows are a bit swery!! :o) Actually the landscape in Vermont makes it very difficult at times for farmers to farm fields, where I live in Canada the soil is clay but in Vermont alot of the land is rocks!
Only place I've ever seen trees growing out cracks in rocks. The farm here is over shadowed by Mt. Mansfield the highest mountain in Vermont the sky area you see is Stowe. Stowe is a beatuiful place to visit as it is surrounded by beautiful mountains the village is full of galleries, gift shops, outdoor gear stores and lots of great resturants.

And I have spotted the ski slopes in the background..!
This is a well composed presentation, and the image has a fine feeling of depth...
The colours are muted and typical for the season, but from now on everything will improve!

Vermont is a superb State very close to wild nature. I like the composition of the made image of parallel bands. Excellent presentation.

You have 4 definite layers in the scenery; the field ploughed by the drunken farmer :D; the forest; the mountains and the sky. Each layer has different detail and texture to make an interesting picture. Well done

Hi Donna,
Your commentary on which the farmer had drunk for the sinuosity of the rows is very nice and funny.
It is a cold and nice landscape, I like skiing and I like the mountain, and your photo shows me all this.
There is a nice contrast between the field, the farm and the ski tracks in the mountain in BG.
Beautiful work.

Lovely picture, soft under the gray sky.(PS: there is a spot in the upper left corner, some dust.)
Good use of the line of corn to lead the eyes to the mountains.

Hi Donna,

Very beautiful and kinda magical composition. I loved the various layers o color starting with snowy land in the front,followed by green forest cover and then grey mountains and sky. I loved the depth of the picture as well, clarity is pretty amazing too.

Excellent winter capture of the majestic mountain that is seen shrouded in mysterious mist. The harvested corn field provides lovely lines to this country landscape. Nice color with excellent details and sharpness.

Donna,
the wishes might be a little bit late, but still I wish you the best for this year 2008. The image that you choose to comemorate this is an interesting with three very distinct layers. The diagonal line in the foreground leading to the middleground with the denuede trees/ forest is good and additionally the mountins with some ski slpoes in the background gives a good framing. It seems to me that you have some dust on your sensor, at least in the left upper corner. You need either clean the sensor or do some cloning before posting.
