Photographer's Note
This is a Trident ballistic missile submarine. It carries dozens of hydrogen bombs. We live on the Hood Canal near the Bangor Washington submarine base and see these monsters (some 500 ft long) slide by frequently. They are absolutely silent and are painted black. It's quite a shock to look up from our home and see them there.
