This is the view looking towards Mt Shuksan on the way back looking north on the Chain Loop trail. This is also the part of the Artist Point trail view on the way back to the parking lot. These trails are only accessible for about 8 weeks out of the year. Now it is all covered in snow.
I took two vertical photos to capture this scene and stitched them together to create this size frame. The pathway brings a never ending invitation to hike these trails during the summer months. The view of Mt Shuksan is ever present along this stretch attracting the attention of all who tread this path.
More photos from this hike can be seen in my Mt Baker trails theme. Enjoy!

Hello Paul,
we're neighbours tonight!
Do you mean 2 horizontal captures that you placed one over the other and stitched?
I like how you obtain so much details in your shots. Are you the kind who's using a tripod for landscape despite the 1/1000 speed? this time though, I think you pushed the sharpening too far just a tad.
I like the path leading us very efficiently toward the snowy summits. I like the blue space between the clouds and the edge of the mountain. I don't know, it kind of adds power to the magnificience of the summits...
All the best!
Marc

Hello Paul,
very sharp photo. good composition and pov. nice depth and vibrant colors.

Hi Paul. Nice job with the stitching here as I never would have guessed you did. I guess a wide-angle would be nice here. Do you mean to say that it is only accessible 8 weeks or 8 months a year? Nice view from your hike Paul!

Very nice composition. You've captured a grand sweeping view, and the pathway helps add context and emphasize depth, while the trees provide a nice natural frame. Well done.

Hola Paul.
Long time no see. This is a superb shot with a splendid view of the trail with the impressive Mt Shuksan, very well captured with a very good POV. Neat and sharp, maybe a little bit oversharped but it doesn't bother me. Nice colors and depth.
Good work with stitches.
Well done.
Best regards.

Hello Paul, A great view from your footsteps on the trail.. Very crisp and telling image of this beautiful country...
Steve

Hello Paul,

This image is very clear. The colours seem very natural and the scenery is breathtaking. I don't see any flaws in the stitching process and yes the path is definitely well placed to create some depth. Nice work :-)

A very beautiful scene!! Perfect color and sharpness. TFS

Hi Paul,
I think that the vertical shooting was a very good choice. The landscape seems to be great with those snowy peaks, the trees and this beautiful sky over the scene.
Thanks for sharing.
Best wishes,
Athanasios.

Superbe paysage sous une belle lumière. Bonne idée de réaliser ce stich qui te permet une composition oroginale avec ce chemin placé comme une invitation à une randonnée vers ces superbes sommets. Beau travail, Paul!
Amicalement

the composition is nice Paul,
good sharpnes, fine colours, only one thing the sky gives here a strange effect, I readed what you did here, but that gives me a extreme noise filter feeling, farther it's a nice one, good photojob, have a nice day.

Hi Paul

Beautiful alpine scenery! The way you used the trail in this is very good, as it tends to lead us right into the scene, and it also makes it easier for us to imagine that we are there. Great weather too, with some great clouds. Nicely done!

Hi Paul,

Hi Paul
This is really a great capture. The clouds are very eye catching and just the way they are hanging over the mountains. As though they are protecting them. The shadowing is great as well. Makes you want to pack a picnic and head out for a enjoyable and breath taking walk with that special someone. Nicely done
I truly enjoy your work
Have a great day
Pamra

Great shot Paul;

I like the contrast, the sharpness, the colors, the composition, but especially the VIEW!
Did you use a polariser Paul? The sky looks as though you used one, however there is some slight overexposure in the snow which resutled in loss of detail...

However, it's still a stunning view buddy.
