Photographer’s Note

I waited a few hours to get a photo of the garden was just to many people. Just when timing is right a limo rolls up with a group of people. I took this photo at the wrong time of day and the picture is too bright.

The Gaiser Conservatory is very popular with visitors. The center dome contains large tropical plants and beautiful flowering displays. These displays are arranged to provide a colorful show of flowers during all seasons of the year and are open to the public free of charge.

Duncan Garden, just south of the conservatory, was designed and built by John W. Duncan in 1913. This classical European Renaissance style garden comprises three acres and is highlighted by a large granite fountain. The fountain was the gift of Mrs. L. M. Davenport in memory of her husband, who was a member of the Spokane Park Board for many years. Featuring bilateral symmetry and geometrical planting beds, the garden currently includes well-manicured grass areas and numerous planting beds of colorful annual flowering plants.
