The small expedition cruise ship 'Sea Lion', out of Seattle, gets up close and personal to the face of Margerie Glacier. Whilst I was shooting these pics from my own much larger cruise ship, some 1/2 mile away, ice was regularly calving into the sea, and no doubt causing some excitement (and consternation!) aboard the Sea Lion!
Once again, the 70-300mm VR lens was outstanding: taken from a RAW image, with minor shadow/highlights adjusted in CS3. |

Looks scary. I have seen a lot of glacier snouts in the Himalayas but this is huge.
Yes the VR Nikon lens performance is out of this world.
