Photographer’s Note
Anish Kapoor's Cloud Gate at Millennium Park Chicago
Hand-held night shot so it's not that sharp (sorry).
Kapoor's Cloud Gate is a hundred ten ton steel sculpture originally unveiled in July 2004 at Chicago's Millennium Park. The park has proved to be a very popular destination. I have photographed the Cloud Gate installation since it opened in July 2004 (the first Cloud Gate picture on TrekEarth btw) and am still enthralled by its effect on people even though many people are already fed up with it. I have a series of Cloud Gate photos taken from the same vantage point, on different times of the day, different days, weeks, months, seasons, years ... to which this photograph above belongs. Enjoy!

I can't say that I've ever seen this before, but it is certainly an interesting object. The curved lines and distortion that it creates is what fascinates me, as well as the obvious effect of making you see the sky. Great colour in this, and nice exposure level to get the city lights in balance with the light in the sky. Well done!

I've only seen pictures of this in the daytime before, and I thought it was amazing then! But this nightime shot is even more stunning.
