Mt. Ranier was beautiful on this day. We had to drive through clouds to get there and it was really magical almost. We hiked for about a mile to reach this spot. When we got down the sky became super grey and cloudy and you couldn't get the same view.

Hello Talia,
NIce picture, and good idea. Clouds over mountains are often very impressive.
However, it is always difficult to transform a good idea into a very good picture.
Althouhg yours has got a good basis, i would add two remarks.
1/ Your sky is desperatly empty (could you get the moon it would have been great), and that makes te upper part of your picture relatively poor in regard to the global frame.
2/ I think your subject here were the clouds just sticking the edge of the mountain : therefore you don't need those pinetrees, that lead the eye in a wrong direction.
That's why i posted a workshop to give you my vision of this kind of picture. have a look and tell me what you think about it.
Best regards

Hi Talia

I had to agree with Tom, it's got a lot of unfulfilled potential, but you've got my vote for effort… keep it going

Have a nice weekend

hola nena, me encanto la toma, mira aunque a los pobres pinos le dejes fuera de encuadre, la toma tiene gran fuerza, sencilla, y linas interesantes.
saludos.
