I figured I should include one photo from Times Square in my gallery, and here it is. :-) Rather than choose the usual neon lights, here is a view at Seventh Avenue & 42nd Street, at the entrance of the Times Square subway station. It is the busiest station in the NYC subway system.

About Times Square itself, in the early 1900's the publisher of the New York Times, Adolph Ochs, decided to move his newspaper to a new building on 42nd Street. The area was previously called Longacre Square, but the name changed in 1904 after the New York Times moved in.

Shortly afterwards, Mr.Ochs convinced the mayor of NYC to build a subway station near his building. That is the station you see in this photo.

Hi Brenda,

Nice and original picture of Time Square by day ! Interesting note. Well done !

Regards, François

Hi Brenda,
Josep

I looked at this shot a few times Brenda. A classic Times Square shot. I especially like POV and choice of corners here, showing the "hustle & bustle" of this area of Manhattan, as well as putting one of the iconic features into the frame in the lit up subway sign. All this underneath a huge splash of commercial color. Good title also, I think I would have instinctively went for the "Hello Goodbye" title but you took it a step deeper into the photo.

Nice work.
John

Ciao Brenda,

Hi Brenda,
I like how there are a couple different layers here. Lots of details to look at, and I get a real sense of hurriedness here. My favorite part of the photo is how the HUGE foot is coming down right on top of the station's signage. I think the inclusion of people in the foreground is important as well. Just to kinda keep it all in perspective I guess. This is one of my favorites coming from you.

Take care,
Brian

Brenda
Great place for pictures. We stayed at the Double Tree Guesthouse on Times Square and with all the adverts I put an AV together on just adverts. So colourful and so graphic
Regards Colin

Hello brenda,
nice composition with advertising above the subway entry. I really appreciate the framing and balance in the subject.
Kind regards

Hello Brenda!
Thanks to your photos we can cross the ocean in seconds and spend some virtual moments with the NY people. Thanks a lot!
Anton

Well observed scene Brenda. The adverts topping the station are excellently placed.Taking the corner as you have, really works for this shot.
Excellent sharpness.
Good title too!
Tfs, regards Jean.

Hello Brenda,
Nice Metropolitan shot. Excellent POV. Like the details of the people in the foreground with BIG FOOT step down into Times Sq.
Bravo!

Hi Brenda,

What are all those people doing? Don't they realize they're about to be trampled upon? And that skateboarder is about to fall onto the pillow and then into the police car below. It was a good idea to include the three people in the foreground, each one going in a different direction.

Best regards,
Lamberto

Hola Brenda
