Hi Barbara,
I agree, the cloud patterns and the pastel colours are beautiful, but I also think you could still improve your photo:
1. I find that both the clouds and the geometric patterns the wooden constructions create are interesting, but I think you should have concentrated on either one of them and move the horizon up or down depending on your choise. as it is now, the upper and lower half of the photo seem to be "competing" for the attention of the viewer with neither one winning. I'm not saying you cannot place the horizon directly in the middle of the shot and still have a pleasing image, but I think it's best used when emphasysing symmetry, which is not the case in this photo.
2. leaving aside the issue of composition, I think the photo needs a bit of post-production. the horizon seems tilted, and adjusting slightly levels and curves you could bring out the colours even more (I don't have any photo editing software on this PC, otherwise I'd try a workshop).
best,
Kristine
Hi Barbara:
I agree with Kristine on this shot, but I do think you captured a beautiful moment. The sky, the clouds, and the reflection they cast on the water are all beautiful. A little post-processing will make this a truly fantastic image. Thanks for sharing.
