what new can possibly said about a place as old as time?

after all, the grand canyon has been the object of hundreds of books, thousands of fotos and millions of awe-inspired gasps.

here, visitors and tourists patiently waited for the spectacular sunset with cameras on the ready. most are concentrated to capturing the reflection down the canyon floor rather than the sunset itself.

wayne ranney, a geologist gave his view of the canyon- "the grand canyon is a world-class example of geologic history and erosion. each layer, from 1.7 billion years old at the base to 270 million years at the rim, represent what earth's surface once was".

Hi Benedict,
the upper light part is attracting and the line of the silhouettes is also great. Like Bertrand I think it is too much of the dark visible. That is for sure personal.
I like that parts of the faces could be recognized in the light.

Hi Benedict
Yo have amazing light in this sky.
The shade are nice. I would prefer an other cropping. Maybe you can cut a large part of the dark part of the composition.
However; it's an amazing picture
Bertrand

Hi Benedict,
Good subject, nice exposure and colours. Good work. Maybe a bit of more cropping would improve the photo.
cheers
Jorge

Dear Benedict,
Sky is really wonderfull on your shot. You've been able to capture the light very well.
The dark part at the bottom is maybe too much present.
Thanks for sharing,

Hi Benedict!
Great sunset! I like the silhouettes and the sky is amazing. Fantastic colours!

Hey Ben,

I think you could have lowered your POV to avoid slicing those silhouttes, though you might loose that much awaited sunset. Perfect colour hues, spectacular sky, amazing contrast between the shadows, shapes created by the silhoutte, it's just too overwhelming to see such a sight...the visual impact of the upper part of the image gets the overall points to a high two :) Well done!!!

Cheers!

Jom

I'm agree to Korkut about dark lower part and above all, to you, in order to considerate "sunsets" like an absolute wonder!
In each way, different latitude, colour's tone.... It's always a pleasure for the eyes.
That one had appeal also 'cause is made in a mytical place, but is amazing regardless of GC.
Best regards
Freddy

dear benedict,
you've got great sky painted by wonderful coolurs, silhouettes are bonus
