[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The Rio Grande passing through Santa Elena Canyon in Big Bend National Park. The left is Mexico, the right is the United States. I love this canyon because it's really inaccesible but you can cross over the border, illegally, and stand on the Mexico beach where the cliffs block you from further travel.
Side note: Just out of frame to the right is an inconsiderate guy on a cell phone! The light was perfect and several of us were standing there waiting while he paced back and forth, oblivious to the beautiful scend he was in the middle of. After much yelling and waving to try and get his attention, a young lady walked over to him, pointed us out with our cameras and made him get out of the way! So, thank you to her and to everyone else, the surrounding world doesn't disappear just because you found a cell signal!

Hi Kristi,
Now I like this pic though personally I would've cropped it a bit at the bottom, but it has nice light in the top half and well looking at it, makes me want to find out whats around that corner :o)
Im glad that you managed to deal with the cell phone guy....doesn't it drive you nuts?!

Thankyou for sharing
Lisa

Hi Kristi,
It pays to be there at the right moment. The light in this photo is just great, coming in from between those cliffs. I agree with Lisa, maybe cropping out some of the FG would make the shot even better.
Shame about the phone guy, but I guess that, in this hypercommunicated world, sometimes you just neeeeed to answer.
Regards,
daniel

Olá Kristi!
This must be a fantastic place! The rivers that cross those canyons and the nature surrounding it can really create a magical environment. The note you wrote is great too!
Congratulations and thanks for sharing.
