Photographer’s Note
A lone Red Fox on the summit of Whiteface Mountain in New York's Adirondacks. He followed me around for about a half hour while I was hiking. A storm was rolling in at the time, which hastened my descent after a few lightning bolts flashed on the mountain. The conditions did give the scene an ethereal feel.
At 4867 feet, Whiteface Mountain is the 5th highest peak in the New York state, with the tallest being Mount Marcy, a few miles away. It affords expansive views of Lake Placid, the site of the 1932 and 1980 Winter Olympics.

Hi Rob,
A nice shot Rob with a beautiful view, and the added extra the fox more or less posing to have his photo taking, he looks good against the different shades of the gray rocks and the bit of green, nice one Rob.
Regards Irene

Hi Rob,
Brilliant picture this. I can understand how hard it is to spot these animals. You not only spotted it, but also managed a great background for it. Really beautiful work.
Well done,
Shaeri
