In ancient Egpyt they believed that after death the dead would get the services of the models that were placed in their tomb. so the person who was buried with this boat and crew would have a boat and crew to sail around the afterlife. This shot is from the Field Museum of Natural History. They have an extensive collection of ancient Egpytian artifacts.
