Photographer’s Note
These gloves were worn on Apollo 13. That mission reached the moon but an explosion in one of the fuel cells almost killed the crew. they haaded back to earth wihout landing on the moon. they used the uspplies in the LEM, Lunar Excursion Module--the vehicle that decended to the moon--, to survive. These gloves were worn by Astronaut James Lovell. They currently are on loan to the Museum of Science and Industry
