Photographer’s Note
When I saw clouds above my home I quickly dropped everything and jumped in my car, camera in hand. It had been very warm earlier in the day but the temperature had dropped dramatically, signaling a change in the weather. I figured if I headed south toward the Golden Gate Bridge I might catch something worth calling a storm that I could add to the Scavenger Hunt.
As I drove along the freeway I could see the leading edge of the clouds/fog and took an immediate exit, not quite certain where I would find a decent shot. As I drove along the shoreline of Tiburon, overlooking the San Francisco Bay, I discovered what turned out to be a treasure trove of photographic possibilities that would make Olli happy. I forgot the storm in my enthusiam and was soon scrambling over the old construction equipment and debris from the adjacent marina that was being rebuilt. I was freezing in shorts and thin shirt as winds pushing clouds toward me cut through my clothes, but the images were too exciting to forego. At one moment I turned west and saw the image I've posted today. I took a single shot and returned to my scavenging. Only later did I realize this was the shot I'd come looking for in the first place.
The hill in the distance, visible at the tip of the black peninsula, is about half a mile from my home. Enjoy the scene. The shots from the construction yard will come later when I begin what I call an Homage to Olli.

are you planning on being the first to reach the finish line in the scav hunt? ;o) This is an exellent storm picture, and you said you weren't sure you could get anything but a "fog storm". the blue patch let's us see the contrasts of the evrchanging weather. Nice one.

Yes, this definitely has an "impending doom" feel, Curtis. I guess an appropriate choice of proportion between the big amount of sky that seems to be dwarfing the land below. I like how this land does come in a dark silhouette on the left, and in layers of rolling gray hills on the right. It's almost b&w but I do like that blue patch in the upper right area. A good and atmospheric capture.

A great stormy sky. I appreciate the way you framd such a large sky area. this makes this shot very special and dramatic. Good job, Curtis.

Hi curtis, I like this one, quite a moody shot, the layers in the hills aer beautifu, and the way the clouds come out after those hills, is beautiful. I like the shadows of the clouds on the water, gives a good idea of the wind. Nice one.
I can't keep up with all those beautiful uploads of every one
