Photographer’s Note
This photo of the Mirage casino hotel was taken from Las Vegas Blvd while we were waiting for the volcano to 'erupt'. This was shot from a tripod on a garbage can with an 8 second exposure without a flash. One of my first attempts at a night scene and I noticed in Vegas it's tough to avoid overexposure on the bright lights of the casinos. Does anyone have some tips on this type of photography?

A good shot, well handled exposure given the subject. I see the problem bringing out the detail in the tree and foreground without overexposing the sign on the top. Maybe combining 3 ore more shots into an HDR image would help with this. 1 of them underexposed, 1 proper, 1 over. Either way good shot, i like how the long exposure has softened the water.

nice first attempts, realy good photo. I like it very well. Combining two or tre shots is the way to avoid overexposure. just get photoshop and start learning:)
But this is good shot, thanks for shareing!
