Photographer’s Note

Even though this is a "posed" photo, this is pretty much how the vessel was found...Half buried in the dunes of Galveston Island. The urn was found while beachcombing after a large storm had swept down the coast. Whether it washed ashore from places unknown or was exposed by the high tides is anyones guess. Was it brought to Galveston Island from a far off land or is it domestic? So small, 3.5 inches(8.9 centimeters) tall, it is a mystery what it could be used for. Scented oils or perfume perhaps? The age also will always remain a mystery. Mayan, Incan or a modern day creation?
