Photographer’s Note

I was really surprised today morning when I noticed this familiar dome...

The outside features of The Prayer Center resembles The Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem, which is the third holiest site for Muslims. The Prayer Center is approximately 22,000 square feet and consists of 3 levels. The lower level will serve as a multi-purpose room where lectures and other educational funtions will occur. The first level serves as the main prayer hall where the five daily prayers and the weekly Friday prayer is held. The mezzanine level, looking down at the prayer hall with a clear view of the imam, is used as additional prayer space.

Henryk: Great colors and composition and it looks like it was a nice day today in Chicago. The polarizer did it's work well but I'm not too crazy about the wide white frame. 2 points anyway.

Great clarity and colors, the polarizer created a nice contrast against the dark sky. I like how you used the tree to frame the image. I am with the previous comment in that the frame appears too large (especially since the main page is also white. Otherwise, nice work, TFS!

Well captured image Henryk. I like the bold colors, especially the bright yello, almost appearing as a sun in the center of your image. It's quite an interesting structure, and you framed it well with the trees and other vegetation around.

Hi Henryk,
Nice image with lovely colors. Good sharpness, details, light and composition. Striking yellow dome created a beautiful contrast with the blue sky. I am cool with the frame.

Etonnant bâtiment.....bien mis en valeur par la lumière et le polarisant (qui a peut-être un peu trop saturé le ciel quand même?). Excellente qualité d'image.
